Who we are
Pathluz ("we") runs a free beta website where adults can chat with AI career mentors for education. You can reach us at hello@pathluz.com.
Who the beta is for
The beta is only for adults 18 and over in the United States. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 gave us information, email hello@pathluz.com and we'll delete it.
What we collect
- Waitlist: your email, the field you're curious about (optional), and that you confirmed you're 18+ and agreed to this notice, with the date.
- Chats: the messages you send, so the mentor can answer. During the beta we keep a random ID in your browser to apply fair-use limits. We don't ask for your name.
- Usage records: for each chat turn, the mentor used, the time, and technical counts used to manage costs. These are linked to a scrambled version of the random ID.
Please don't share sensitive details like health, legal matters, or financial account numbers in chat.
How we use it
To run the beta, answer your questions, prevent abuse, manage costs, improve the mentors, and email you about Pathluz if you joined the waitlist. We don't sell your personal information.
Where your information is stored
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which serves the pages and runs the chat and waitlist on our behalf. Waitlist sign-ups (your email, optional field of interest, 18+ confirmation, consent and date) are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Daily chat-limit counters are kept in Cloudflare storage under a scrambled version of your browser's random ID, and expire automatically. To limit abuse, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for about two hours; we never store your raw IP address. Cloudflare may process your information in the United States and other countries where it operates.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages load slowly. It is cookieless: it doesn't set cookies, use local storage, or fingerprint your device to track you across sites or visits. We only see aggregate numbers such as page views, referring sites, countries, browser types and page-load speed, not who you are. You can block it with a standard content blocker and the site still works.
AI services
During this beta, mentor answers are scripted from official sources by our own code running on Cloudflare. Your chat messages are not sent to an outside AI model provider. If that changes, we'll name the provider here first.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Chat and usage records for a limited time, to be stated before launch.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time and ask us to access or delete your information by emailing hello@pathluz.com. Depending on your state, you may have additional rights.
Changes
We'll post changes here and update the date above.
